MARKING CRITERIA:
● 10% of marks – Marks will be awarded for concise Introductions which provide an overview of what
will be included within the body of your work, the concept of skin rejuvenation treatments and discuss
what you aim to achieve by the end.
● 50% of your marks – Marks will be allocated for depth of knowledge and understanding of the theories
and concepts of the selected treatment (e.g. selective photothermolysis, target chromophores, healing
cascade, neocollagenesis etc). Higher marks will be given for responses which include alternative views
and opinions, which evidence your ability to compare and contrast different ideas about treatment
options and protocols, include future trends and advancements in technology.
● 20% of marks – Explain how and why factors such as your client demographic (age, gender/Fitzpatrick
etc), treatment selected (e.g wavelength, spot size) , area (face or body), skin pathology or condition,
contra indications, medication, and treatment indications can impact the efficacy of treatment.
● 10% of marks – The conclusion must reflect and evaluate what you have learnt and include viable
recommendations based on the content in the main body of your work.
● 10% of your marks – The marks for references will be allocated for the quality, range and currency of
your references (include a minimum of 15 academic sources), which are to be embedded and
acknowledged within your report and must adhere to the UCB referencing standards and which show
cross referencing to add further justification.
